POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSIONER FOR WILTSHIRE CHIEF CONSTABLE OF WILTSHIRE POLICE AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS 2013-14 (financial year ending 31st March 2014) NOTICE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS

POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSIONER FOR WILTSHIRE CHIEF CONSTABLE OF WILTSHIRE POLICE AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS 2013-14 (financial year ending 31st March 2014) NOTICE OF PUBLIC RIGHTS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Sections 15 and 16 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 and Regulations 9, 10, 21, 22, and 24 of the Accounts and Audit (England) Regulations 2011:

1) For a period of 20 full working days commencing on 8th July 2014, any person interested may inspect between the hours of 9.30am and 4.30pm (Monday to Friday):

(i) At the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, London Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2RD the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire Group Statement of Accounts to be audited for the financial year 2013-2014 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto, and may make copies of all or any part of the accounts and the said other documents;

(ii) At Police HQ London Road Devizes Wiltshire SN10 2DN the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Statement of Accounts to be audited for the financial year 2013-2014 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto, and may make copies of all or any part of the accounts and the said other documents.

Those wishing to inspect the Police and Crime Commissioner Group Accounts to be audited for the financial year 2013-2014, the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Statement of Accounts to be audited for the financial year 2013-2014 or other documentation relating thereto may not inspect so much of any accounts or other documentation that contains personal information within the meaning of Sub-Sections 15(3A) and 15(4) of the Audit Commission Act 1998, nor are they entitled to require any such information to be disclosed in answer to any question.

2) On or after 6th August 2014, at 10.00am at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, London Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2RD, the auditor appointed by the Audit Commission to act as auditor in relation to Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire Group Statement of Accounts and the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Statement of Accounts, Grant Thornton UK LLP, Hartwell House, 55-61 Victoria Street, Bristol, BS1 6FT, shall, at the request of any local government elector for the area to which the accounts relate, give the elector, or any representative of his, an opportunity to question Grant Thornton UK LLP about the said accounts.

3) On or after 6th August 2014, any local government elector for the area to which the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire Group Statement of Accounts or the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Statement of Accounts relate, or any representative of his, may attend before Grant Thornton UK LLP and make objections as to:

i) any item of account which is contrary to law;

ii) any matter in respect of which it is in the public interest that the Grant Thornton UK LLP should make a report.

4) No objection may be made under (3) above unless Grant Thornton UK LLP has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and of the grounds on which it is to be made. A copy of such written notice shall be sent, in respect of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire Group Statement of Accounts, to the Chief Executive of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, London Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2RD or, in respect of the Chief Constable of Wiltshire Statement of Accounts to the Chief Constable, Police HQ, London Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 2DN at the same time.
