  Eighteen months ago I complained on your letters page that the roads in and around Marlborough were a disgrace, and suggested that the authorities should employ contractors capable of doing a proper job. Mr Dick Tonge (on behalf of Wiltshire Council) responded in a manner indicating that the quality of roads and contractors was no business of mine.
