Cruel comments

In response to the letter ‘Take a little pride’ in the Gazette & Herald last week, the comments published are cruel, hurtful and unnecessary.

The presentation evening was an informal event. No dress code was requested or required. Many of the tattooed gentlemen were ex-servicemen who have my undying respect and admiration.

The representative from Wadworth’s was not at all scruffy. He was dressed casually smart as befitted the relaxed occasion.

I dressed in a suit and tie purely to reflect the personal honour I feel in being allowed to represent such a unique group of skilled individuals. To suggest that these individuals have no pride in themselves could not be further from the truth.
