On Saturday morning. I saw the wonderful work of Wiltshire's emergency services and great community spirit of local people.
I was going to meet residents in Biddestone and driving on the A420 when I and others were overtaken at speed by a pick-up truck. Sadly another car was coming the other way. The impact was terrifying.
Within minutes fire, ambulance and police officers were there. The Wiltshire air ambulance was also soon on the scene.
By then a first-aider, A&E consultant and GP had all been helping those in the crash. I and others left our cars to direct traffic and advised on safe, alternative routes.
Hopefully no one was badly hurt. However it was a sharp reminder on obeying speed limits, how terrific our emergency services are and of the compassion of most of our fellow citizens.
Mike Evemy, Prospective Liberal Democrat, MP for North Wiltshire.

I was the driver of the VW Golf hit head on by the driver of the Toyota Hi Lux in this incident and would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that stopped and assisted on 30th January.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the members of the emergency services involved in modifying my car in2a convertible, safely removing me from the vehicle and air lifting me to hospital, while still keeping me fully informed so i would know exactly what was going 2happen and what to expect. I really am extremely grateful.
I just hope that a lesson has been learnt about trying to over take in such a dangerous manner and with out any thought or attention.
