Wonderful tribute

The town of Wootton Bassett shows tremendous respect for all our armed forces.

I watched on TV as the rain poured down, and you stayed by the road and waited for our fallen soldiers.

I am a mother of a serving soldier and I would like to stand with you on these very sad occassions but live too far away. You represent the country, all the forces and the relatives and friends of our soldiers in Afghanistan. I would like to thank you.

As someone who was born and grew up in Wiltshire and the wife and mother in law of ex serviceman I wish to say how proud I feel when I see on the news Wooton Bassett paying their respects to all the service people who have died in the current conflicts.

I am an ex-service wife. Please read my Blog http://mistedheather

I need to know that I am not alone in my distress for these poor, fallen soldiers who serve their country without question, whether it is right or wrong.

I am forwarding to you the letter I sent to the BBC as I feel their actions on Tuesday were disgraceful

I am a resident of Wootton Bassett and have just returned from the the procession through Wootton Bassett of the soldiers and am very cross at the BBC's actions of placing a cherry picker over the middle of the road under which the procession had to pass turning it in my opinion into more of a circus. The Mayor did request they move but they refused. I know I am not alone in feeling this way and would be grateful if in future you would respect that we as a town go to show our respect for the soliders and their families perhaps you could do the same. All the other news channels film discretely from the side of the road maybe you could also become one of them. If this is not possible maybe you could explain why?

Regards
Bea Oram
