I read with interest in your paper that our local councillors have finally come to their senses and are to bring back our own money.

Pensioners such as myself have never been happy with this new money, and everything was cheaper in good old pounds, shillings and pence.

I served through the Second World War to liberate Europe, now they tell us what to do.

When will the faceless bureaucrats in Brussels learn?

We’re British and proud of it. It gladdens my old heart to know Devizes is striking the first blow.
