ON behalf of Devizes Lions may I express a very big thank you to the people of Devizes for the magnificent response to our Christmas Fair. When, in November, we asked for items to include in the fair we were overwhelmed with a deluge of excellent goods, many virtually new.
When we displayed these in the Corn Exchange on Saturday the crowds were magnificent. We even had to open the doors early as the queue was stretching past NatWest bank.
As a result of the support we got, After deducting the costs like hiring the Corn Exchange, about £8,000 will be available to distribute to charitable causes in the town and surrounding area in the coming year. Once again a big thank you to the people of Devizes for your support.
