MUCH was made in the past few months about the death of the last Tommy from the First World War.
Is the continued use of the poppy now merely a cynical exercise to excuse those who died in pursuit of contemporary warmongering when it is Britain who is the aggressor?
If there is to be a true sense of remembrance then it can only be achieved by removing the original causes of the First World War and its begotten child, the Second World War, those causes being the monarchies of Europe.
