ON behalf of The Noise Devizes volunteers, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the following organisations and businesses for their support for our May, July and recent September 30 to October 1 weekend community events.
The Noise Devizes is now building relationships with more organisations and businesses which have all played a part in supporting us in various ways.
This year we have added Wiltshire Council Social Services, Devizes School, Devizes Leisure Centre, Hillworth Park, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust to the contacts previously on our list including Southbroom St James Academy, Shire Garden Machines Ltd, Roses the Ironmongers, Gaiger Bros Ltd and Grist Environmental waste services.
As a result of these partnerships 100 Noise Devizes volunteers successfully completed five projects earlier in the year and 10 more over the weekend, including deep cleaning the Alzheimer’s Support Day Centre in Sidmouth Street and the home of a local resident, interior and exterior painting and gardening at Southbroom St James’ Academy and three local gardens, litter picking and clearing overgrowth around the perimeter of Devizes School and supporting the work of the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust at the Roundway orchard and cricket field for others to enjoy.
These inclusive all age events proved very enjoyable and enabled even the youngest volunteers to learn to better respect our environment and the benefits of teamwork.
