WE’RE here to support people affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
This month we marked World Alzheimer’s Day. Did your readers know there are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over one million by 2025?
In many ways Alzheimer’s and dementia are very unforgiving conditions both for the people affected and for those they hold close. The future can seem uncertain and it can be hard to know where to turn.
With the risk of developing age related conditions including Alzheimer’s and dementia increasing year on year, I’d like to take a moment to reassure your readers that they needn’t face the challenges that dementia can bring alone, we’re here to help.
I work for Revitalise, a wonderful charity that provides respite holidays for disabled people and carers, including people affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, at our Netley Waterside House respite holiday centre in Southampton.
Our specialist Alzheimer’s Weeks are devoted to couples and families living with the condition. Each and every aspect of our unique weeks are designed with our guests in mind, enabling carers and their loved ones to relax and take time to enjoy priceless moments together.
