FAR from criticising the NHS, and the GWH in particular, I have nothing but praise for the way they have looked after me and my family ever since we moved to Calne in 1971.
On August 3 I took a tumble in our garden. I knew I had done something serious so my husband drove me straight to Swindon.
We arrived at about 3pm and I was seen within a few minutes of arriving in A&E by the triage nurse who confirmed a shoulder injury and summoned a doctor. He sent me to x-ray.
Within half an hour the doctor was attempting to relocate my shoulder, bearing in mind I had also broken my upper arm.
Following more x-rays, my shoulder was put back where it
should be, this time under sedation. More x-rays were taken to confirm, and I was on my way home with painkillers and a sling. This
was 7pm.
All the nurses and doctors I saw were wonderful and completely dedicated to looking after us with compassion and expertise.
I can’t praise them highly
enough.
