I HAVE two telephones in my house and last Saturday I found that neither of them were working.
As I am a Post Office home phone customer, I went to my local post office to enquire what to do, but the female counter assistant was not very helpful – not knowing very much about anything. It wasn’t as if they were busy as I had been outside waiting for them to open at 9am.
I went outside to use the pay phone. Eventually I was put through to customer services and explained that I had been put on hold for some while and was afraid that my money would run out. The operator told me I should have gone to a post office then they would have done it for free and with far less hassle. Up until now I have always found post office staff to be helpful and obliging, but I am now having second thoughts.
