THE recent planning application for the skateboard park in Chippenham is missing one vital piece of information detail. That is, how much it is actually going to cost to build. Added to this sum should be the cost of the design and the work over the years to get the application finally submitted.

This money is to be spent by a town council that cannot afford to even keep two public toilets open. Locations which would have been used and of benefit to far more people than a skateboard park.

No doubt, the toilets and skateboard park money will come from different budgets. This ignores the simple fact that the budgets come from the same source – the council tax payer.
