I READ with interest the letter from Nr Nev Cooper in the Gazette, June 9, when he wonders how many people have considered the tens of thousands who gave their lives during the two world wars to keep this country from being under the control of Europe.
A little while before I read this letter, my husband and I were walking along the Brittox in Devizes and there was a group of people handing out leaflets on remaining in the EU and my husband asked Mrs Margaret Taylor why she thought that people had fought in two world wars if it wasn’t so that this country could be free from being under the control of Europe, as Mr Cooper says.
My husband and I have both already voted (by post) and your readers can guess which way.
