It is a great sadness to me that the senior echelons of the Wiltshire Police and the councillors with influence do not read my letters that you are kind enough to publish. Or, if they do, they ignore them!

In February I suggested that, on the evidence made available in the national press, that continuing to use our money in pursuit of allegations of wrongdoing by Ted Heath is not warranted. I am advised, however, by the Police Commissioner’s office that the investigation continues.

Unless the police can produce compelling evidence that further investigation is justified, this matter should surely be brought to a conclusion.

I urge your readers to raise this issue with their local councillor.
