I WOULD like to convey how much my daughter and I enjoyed the Remembrance Day Service in Chippenham on Sunday, November 7. It was poignant and moving, and it was lovely to see so many young families and children there, paying their respects to those who gave their lives for our freedom, and to those currently present in service, who are continuing to protect the society we enjoy.
The two-minute silence brought home the solemnity of the occasion, however, I was led to believe there was a service band that would have led the procession on their march at the conclusion of the formalities. It was disappointing not to see a band leading the way for our current service men and women.
