I WAS somewhat disappointed on reading page three of last week’s Gazette to read that opposition is still being raised to two different plans for homes for younger families being built – on Newby Close and in Salisbury Road. Surely there would be ways to solve the problems being voiced.

Once again older residents are being favoured, and it really rubbed salt into the wound to have printed on the same page the report that plans for the retirement flats in London Road have been approved and building will soon start.

I am past retirement age, have lived in Marlborough most of my life and feel strongly that we should help and encourage young blood into the town.
