RE the article in the Gazette & Herald, ‘Take action on hazardous road’ (October 22), I live almost opposite the entrance to solicitor Mr Dawe- Lane’s drive and I totally agree with him about the junction with Marsh Lane, it has become a killer, especially at busy times.

Traffic takes no notice or reduces speed before going over the bridge to the main Marsh Lane.

We park off-road at the front of our property. Yellow lines are in place and taken no notice of.

Like the dual carriageway, Marsh Lane is also an accident waiting to happen.

As for the dual carriageway outside Devizes on the A361 at Caen Hill, I totally agree with him. Traffic is dangerous. There is no control over speed at all.

Several accidents have proved this, this year.

I am quite surprised that on Marsh Lane with all the heavy buses, coaches, farm equipment etc the bridge, small as it is, has managed to stay up.

As for Wiltshire Council saying accidents don’t count towards its figures unless someone dies, who is responsible for that stupid remark? The council needs to get its act together.

We pensioners cut our own grass verges, they don’t come up as far as us.

Cut back on top officer jobs not needed and spend it elsewhere.
