I feelI must respond to Mrs Stevenson’s letter in your paper dated September 17. Whilst I recognise some of her concerns, I do not see Corsham as she does.
There are a few vacant shops, but nearby towns are also suffering this way, but this is not an excuse for sitting on our laurels.
We have an attractive high street filled with small businesses, eg a newsagent, stationers, bookshop, butchers, ironmongers, florists. Also there is the Co-op and not far away Sainsbury’s supermarket, also the Spar shop.
I could expand but will quickly say we have eateries from snacks and sandwiches to high quality cuisine, hairdressers, vets, dentists, a great town hall and the Pound Centre, sports and a swimming pool. Also, take a browse around the Curiosity Shop – you will be surprised at what you find.
Corsham is a great place to enjoy life.
