I would like to pass on my thanks to all those who came along to a concert I hosted on Sunday, September 13 at St Peter’s Church in Marlborough in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity.
This cancer kills more children and adults under 40 than any other form of the disease and still receives no government or statutory funding, relying so much on voluntary donations. My son-in-law died of a brain tumour so this charity is very dear to my daughter and myself.
My appreciation too goes to Berendina Cook and Matthew Stanley for performing their wonderful classical piano recital. It was a very special occasion, a great success and enjoyed by all who attended. It raised more than £3,000 towards this very worthy cause – a gift that will really help to save lives.
COUNCILLOR MARGARET ROSE, Mayor of Marlborough
