THANK you for publishing my letter dated October 5, 2014 in the Gazette & Herald.
This concerned a delivery lorry parking outside The Lemon Plaice in Devizes every Thursday morning around 9am.
The exposure in your paper certainly worked because after publication, the lorry moved its delivery time and guess what, the traffic moved freely again.
That is until Thursday, April 30, when the lorry delivered again at 9am.
The traffic was queued right back along the Potterne Road nearly to the 30mph signs and also along Long Street and Nursteed Road.
After a period of six months without the lorry, traffic moved reasonably well but as soon as it returned, substantial delays occurred.
Clearly altering the delivery time has not affected the business and the option of using the layby nearby (suggested in your paper the following week) has been ignored.
Obviously traffic enforcement has been dismissed by the authorities also.
