THE Great Western Hospital in Swindon is struggling to meet its target for dealing with Accident and Emergency patients within four hours.

The target is 95 per cent but the GWH only succeeded in seeing 70 per cent of A&E patients within four hours during a given time-frame (the last week in March), according to the report in your newspaper.

Compared to other hospitals nationally, the Swindon hospital is rated one of the worst in the country regarding this particular target.

One wonders what it must be like to work in a hospital under these sorts of pressures with up to 28 ambulances waiting outside with patients wanting to be seen.

These doctors and nurses deserve our admiration and praise for continuing to do an extremely good job while working under these enormous pressures.

The population of Swindon is growing very fast and the medical infrastructure has not kept pace with the numbers of people requiring hospital treatment in Swindon.
