THE fixing of some tiles on County Hall roof had failed, resulting in tiles falling from a great height on to the disabled parking bays, so I cannot understand why Mr Chivers (letters, March 19) should be amazed to see them being replaced by new ones.
Selling the old tiles to a reclamation company for regrading and then use for repairs on smaller roofs seems not only sustainable but also financially prudent.
