With reference to the letter headed Can we transfer plan? and signed ‘A Devizes patient’ on the letters page, February 5, may I suggest that the writer of the letter, and indeed any other like-minded readers might like to sign our petition.
The contract that Care UK has with the Wiltshire CCG comes to an end later this year and, as we understand it, negotiations are now under way for a new contract, so we are petitioning the CCG to change the use of the treatment centre to include a Minor Injuries Unit, or at the very least, arrange for the building to be used as a Minor Injuries Unit in the evenings and at weekends, since under the terms of the current contract the building is not used during these periods.
Copies of the petition are available at Devizes Books, Handel House, Sidmouth Street, Devizes SN10 1LD.
Sue Buxton, Secretary, Devizes Constituency Labour Party.
