Wessex Male Choir hope you have a very happy New Year and that you had a wonderful Christmas.

The choir has had an extremely busy 2014, especially at the end of the year when in December they gave concerts in Paddington, London, Eddington Priory and St Mark’s in Swindon, as well as two flash mobs at Nationwide HQ and Toys R Us, Swindon.

Members participated in the North Wales Choral festival in Llandudno, gaining third place with only two points between them and the winners, as well as giving a concert in Llandudno town.

The choir has performed in Dublin and Waterford, Ireland in April and concerts in Royal Wootton Basset, the Wyvern Theatre and Steam Museum in Swindon.

2015 proves to be shaping up as another exceptional year singing in Royal Wotton Basset, Pontardullais in Wales, in Oxford with the Reutgers University Choir from America, with the Norwegian Ladies Choir in Taunton, as well as the choir’s annual summer concert in the Steam Museum, Swindon, Holyrood Church in Old Town in December and again in London.

This will be Katrine Reimers’ second year with the choir, as their musical director, and she has brought tone and colour to the music that is performed.

All of this is not possible without the commitment of choristers. The choir are always on the lookout for new male choristers to join them, so if you are over 16, and can hold a note, why not take a look at their website www.wessexmalechoir.co.uk which gives you information on where they practise and who to contact.

Alternatively email the membership secretary on membership@ wessexmalechoir.co.uk.

If you would like to be a Friend of the choir, visit the above website which gives further details. It costs nothing but you get reduced price tickets, early notification of events and entry into their annual draw. We hope to see you at one of our concerts.
