Wow, what a weekend for our 20th Burbage Christmas tree sale and market! I would like to thank all the customers and 60 volunteers who made it such a success.

Volunteers were involved in running our kitchen and refreshments, silent auction, foliage and table decorations, cake stall, rustic reindeer and Christmas market and tree selling operation.

We broke all previous records, with more than 2,500 visitors purchasing some 750 trees. Thank you also for live music, to the Pewsey Belles ladies choir, Burbage School choir, Cats Eyes and Marlborough Big Band. Claire Perry MP came to cut the 20th celebration cake and had to do some real work for a couple of hours!

New to this year was the Life Celebration carol service at 4pm on Saturday with ceremonial lighting up of our giant outside Christmas tree and we hope to repeat this very successful element next year, complete with mince pies and mulled wine afterwards. Feedback from those attending was very positive.

This is a charity event, raising funds for All Saints Church in Burbage, so thank you once again.

We look forward to seeing you all again for our 21st annual sale in 2015 on December 12 and 13.

George Gordon,
Organiser,
Burbage.
