Despite the public consultation period being over, I feel compelled to write to express my dismay about the proposed Crown Estate Salisbury Road development in Marlborough.

While I’m not averse to sympathetic residential and commercial development in Marlborough, it needs to be thought through.

Unfortunately this proposal appears not to have yet considered the implications of up to an additional 1,000 vehicle movements a day on an already congested Salisbury Road. Traffic is often backed up the hill past Cadley.

Further site assessments are still to take place. Can we ensure that a traffic impact study is undertaken and that the studies’ terms of reference and the results are made public?
