On behalf of the Trust for Devizes, I would like to thank all of those in our community who have contributed to the development of the Devizes Neighbourhood Plan.
It is clear from the reasons set out by Eric Pickles for dismissing the appeal by Mactaggart and Mickel that the existence of such a well-developed plan played a major part in his decision. It also gives us the reassurance that further housing development will only be given the go ahead if it is within the boundaries set out in the plan.
There is still time to comment on the final version of the plan at http://consult.wiltshire.gov.uk/portal/spatial_planning/np/devizes_development_plan and we would urge people to do so by November 27.
