No benefit to traders
Anyone who doubts the arguments about car parking charges in Wiltshire need only join the desperate search for a free space on the upper deck of Emery Gate, Chippenham, just after 10am on Sunday when Tesco has opened.
Bizarrely, the charges regime by Wiltshire Council benefits only the large national store chains and has no benefit at all for the traders of Wiltshire.
