We feel compelled to respond to the letter, ‘We live on a rat run’ (August 7). We can sympathise with Mrs Pearce’s situation as we also live in Cepen Park North and many of the roads become congested by non-residents, ie Stainers Way, Barnes Road and Sheepscroft accessing Hardenhuish Lane from the A350.

However, comparing the level of noise and pollution experienced in Willowbank to what residents will experience if The Range is built on the proposed site is short-sighted.

One thousand lorries every week plus cars accessing The Range site opposite Cepen Park North will greatly exceed the current level of noise and pollution within this area even with the dualling of the A350.

Before we began our protest we believe we did do our homework-by attending The Range exhibition, walking the perimeter, seeking professional guidance and speaking to councillors. We agree The Range should be positioned on the M4 corridor near junction 17 but not near houses in Chippenham.
