Being an avid fan of countryside, farmers and farms, and knowing how hard they work and are responsible to keep our countryside so beautiful, I have a burning question that needs to be answered: are they above the law when it comes to driving their tractors?
Over the last month, there have been several occasions – at least once a week – while I’ve been driving through our scenic lanes, that I have had to urgently slow down and pull in because one of the above has been pounding down the road towards me; and more than once the driver has been on the phone.
As if to add insult to injury (and these could have been serious) around the region there are signs saying ‘Trust the Tractor’. Well I am very sorry to say, I certainly don’t.
