I would like to express my thanks to the committee and organisers of the Bishops Cannings Parish Festival held recently.
I felt very honoured to be asked to join the committee and helped out where I could, although I fully appreciate how much harder other committee members worked to make this festival such a success.
The events over 10 days were very well attended and brought together all that is good about the parish of Bishops Cannings.
The parish council fully supported the festival, with both a grant and plenty of coverage through a number of editions of the parish newsletter.
I would like to give a particular mention to committee members Caroline Martin, Caroline Cutting, Elizabeth Frearson, Rob Smith, Kathryn Robinson and Rachel and John Rider (the later whose farm was used for the farm visits and farm Sunday), in addition to the various businesses that took part.
Together they made a team that produced a spectacular festival and can be rightly proud of what they have achieved.
I am already looking forward to the next parish festival, knowing (as hard as it is to imagine) that it will be even better than this one.
Paul Robinson, Chairman, Bishops Cannings Parish Council.
