I was pleased to read Mary Fallon’s letter in last week’s paper. But I must correct her on one or two points.
First, she mentions “negative aspects” raised by the Tory group, which included car parking. I hate to push this again, but something has to be done about this.
When I last spoke to the council, the answer I got was that it would require Chippenham Town Council speaking to Wiltshire Council. Well, why not?
I also noted that the committee thanked Adrian Jones for obtaining a grant from the Borough Lands. Did the committee know that it was only for £5,000?
Which raises the question, is the Chippenham Council so hard up that the success of the splash pad hangs on £5,000, bearing in mind that the council annual revenue approaches £2,000,000?
I am also pleased that there is to be a new artist’s impression. Could the new impression show a summer background in place of a winter one?
