There were cheers and tears at Melksham Town Football Club on Saturday and Sunday as the youngsters of the Mid-Wilts Youth League battle dit out in their league cup finals.

Humid conditions prevailed at the start of the U17 final between FC Chippenham and league champions Castle Combe Colts on Friday night.

A local derby in the U9's fair play awards saw winners of the award Trowbridge Town Youth C play runners up Trowbridge Wanderers B in an evenly matched display of football. Town gaining the advantage five minutes before half time with a great flick from Ciaran Taylor after an excellent corner kick.

Under 9's League Cup Semi Final:
Trowbridge Wanderers and Melksham Park A got off to a very even start with both sides wary of one another as the previous meetings had been very close.
Under 13's Jack Goodenough Memorial Trophy
Melksham Town Youth bounced back after last week's 5-1 league defeat against Devizes Town Youth to book their place in the semi finals with a 2-1 away win. Billy Cookson and Ryan Underwood scored for Melksham with Jon Webb replying for Devizes.
Under 9's Division One
After a goal less first half Henry Bilsdon gave Westbury Youth Lions the lead against home side Warminster Highbury following great work from Ben Starr. Starr made it 2-0 with a deflected left footed strike giving Westbury the win.
