Fair play matches prove a big hit
Under 9's Fair Play Match:
A local derby in the U9's fair play awards saw winners of the award Trowbridge Town Youth C play runners up Trowbridge Wanderers B in an evenly matched display of football. Town gaining the advantage five minutes before half time with a great flick from Ciaran Taylor after an excellent corner kick.
Wanderers came out strong after the break and were soon creating chances with Thomas McKeown hitting the crossbar after three. Wanderers drew level after a pass from Connor Wase was converted by McKeown after an excellent individual display of ball control on the edge of Trowbridge Towns goal area.
The match was now producing end to end performances from both teams , Wanderers breaking the stale mate from a break on the left wing by Jake Reed who confidently struck the ball into the back of the net from outside of the box. An excellent display of football and sportsmanship from both teams showing why they were voted to represent the U9's in the fair play award day at Boscombe Down.
Under 13's Fair Play Match
The lads from Bradford Town Youth and Bishops Cannings had a great afternoon at the under 13's Fair Play game which was played in great spirit. Bishops Cannings gave a good display in the first half which belied their position at the bottom of the Red division. First half goals from Jon Cullen (a celebration to rival Robbie Keane!) and Dan Dawson (he of the new red boots) gave Bradford a 2-1 half time lead. Driven on well in the second half by Rufus Lavis in a striker role Bradford dominated as the opposition tired. Further goals from Sam Pugh (2), Lawrie Brown (2), Matt Hale (2), Wes Mumford (2), Lavis and Tom Kilgallen gave Bradford a 12-1 win. The result came second though to the game itself that was a credit to both teams.
Under 9's Division One
FC Chippenham took the lead against Trowbridge Town Youth with a headed goal from Tadgh Feerick. Trowbridge equalised half way through the second half before Jordan Young made it 2-1 to Chippenham with a fantastic free kick curled in the top corner. Once again Frankie Vaz and Jordan Young dominated mid field for Chippenham.
Trowbridge Wanderers could still clinch runners up place after running out 2-1 winners at home to Chippenham Town Youth White's. Chippenham took a 1-0 lead at the break but two second half strikes from Matty Mantay secured the win for Wanderers.
Under 9's Division Two
Melksham Town Saints and Melksham Town Robins enjoyed an entertaining game on a damp evening which was played in the right spirit and with enthusiasm. Saints took an early lead from a good passing move but Joe wood fired in a fierce shot for the Robins to equal the scores.
The game was end to end for a while but the ever energetic and skilful Matt tanner proved too much for the Robins defence and scored a lovely individual goal followed quickly by a good pass for Kai to calmly score again. Another good move out of defence was finished again by Kai bush to make it 4-1 at half time. The Robins tightened their defence in the second half and had some good chances but man of the match Tanner scored again leaving the final score at 5-1 to the Saints.

Under 9's Division Three
AFC Corsham Leopards roared to a 2 - 0 victory against Trowbridge Town B guaranteeing their place as Division three champions with a game still to play. The first half saw the Leopards pinned back in their half until substitutes Callus Martin and Shaun Whale opened up the play and reverse the flow of the game. Strong play down the centre of the park by Whale and excellent interplay between Jonathan Beazley and Calla Emerson-Hicks lead to the first goal which was struck calmly into the back of the net by Martin. The Leopards held out under Trowbridge attacks long enough for Beazley to supply Emerson-Hick to score his twentieth under 9's league goal. Strong defensive play by Ashley Boy and Sam Fuller resulted in their seventh clean sheet of the campaign.
Bradford Town Youth secured runners up position with a 4-0 win over visitors Castle Combe Colts. Bradford saw goals from Stacey, Sitwell and two own goals.
Josh South scored the only goal of the game two minutes before the end of the first half giving Warminster Highbury B a 1-0 wins over home side Trowbridge Town Youth D.

Derry went all out for an equaliser but Dilton held onto their lead to secure the points and secure this seasons title.
Devizes Town Youth ran out 2-1 winners away to AFC Calne in a very close game. Devizes took the lead early on with a goal from Luke Coates. Under 11's Division One
A very tight first half saw Trowbridge Town Youth take the lead against home side Melksham Town Youth after twenty minutes through a long range effort by Ryan Fry scoring his first ever goal for Trowbridge. Trowbridge only managed to hold the lead for five minutes before Melksham got their well deserved equaliser after some good play down and a cross from the right hand side saw the ball deflected in for an own goal. The match continued to be a very evenly balanced encounter before Conner McKay grabbed a second for Trowbridge shortly before half time after some determined play down the left wing. The Second half continued to be a close game with both sides creating chances, however it was Trowbridge who eventually made the critical breakthrough when McKay got the third goal from a cross by Liam Naylor, with ten minutes to go Joe Blais rose above the Melksham defence to head his first and Trowbridge's fourth, Harvey Hale grabbed Trowbridge's fifth when running through onto a throw in and sliding the ball home between the keeper and the near post.

After early pressure Harry Andrews opened the scoring with a powerful drive from the edge of the box. Further goals from Jordan Jenkins, Joe Bat trick and Joe Sowing followed allowing Larkhall to go in at half time leading 4-0. The second half started in the same vein with Bat trick soon adding his second. Trowbridge, to their credit, dug deep and a combination of good goalkeeping and wasteful finishing kept out Larkhall until the last ten minutes, when a brace from substitute Daniel Bennett and two own goals made for a final score of 9-0 to Larkhall.
Under 12'S Red Division
The top of the table clash between leaders Warminster Highbury and Chippenham Town Youth Blue promised to be an unfishable event as both teams have displayed exceptional talent this season and thoroughly deserve to be promoted. The watching crowd were treated to a game of the highest order with both teams showing exactly why they have done so well this season. Chippenham Town took early control of the game and stormed to a 3-0 nil half time lead, as a result of excellent teamwork and some exciting free-flowing football. Warminster had difficulty stopping the Chippenham players creating chances to increase their lead and had to defend resolutely to keep the score down.
The second half was a lot more even and a twenty minute period of dominance, excellent passing, and fine finishing by Warminster resulted in them drawing level at 3-3.
Chippenham got back into the game making it impossible to decide who would win as both teams had chances to take the lead. Chippenham Town did just that with ten minutes remaining but even then the game had more to deliver. Warminster got a well deserved equaliser making it 4-4, putting both sets of fans into a state of nervousness for their players as they gave every ounce of effort to score a winning goal. In the final minutes chances were made by both teams which could have won the game but it ended in a deserved draw for both teams. The crowd gave both sets of players a rousing cheer and generous applause as they provided a truly wonderful performance which was enjoyed by all. Special mention needs to be made for the fourteen year old referee, Stephen Myers, who having just passed the ref's course, had a fine game and has a bright future in the middle of the park. Chippenham saw goals from Symons Leper (2), Dom Staple-Preston and Tom Jones with Stuart Lindsay, Mate Leak, Junky Obstmayer and Simon Papworth replying for Highbury.

Castle Combe Colts and Chippenham Town Rangers played a re-run of last week's match but unfortunately for Combe not a repeat their dominance last week. Rangers started the better of the two teams and opened the scoring after eight minutes. There was stalemate in the middle of the park, and both sides had opportunities to score but neither took advantage. Combe started much brighter in the second half and looked in more dominant mood and ten minutes Combe's top scorer Matt Stevens scored his thirty-eighth goal of the season neatly slotting past the Rangers keeper after being put through by Combe man of the match Sam Wozniak. Combe began to press and had shot after shot saved and then on the counter attack shocked Combe by getting their second fifteen minutes into the half. Combe rallied as a team and twenty-five minutes in Joe Needham the Combe sub crossed from the right and Matthew Baines in an unfamiliar left midfield position got onto the end of it to equalise once again for Combe. This set the game up for an exciting finale, with Combe pressing the Chippenham goal but with the Rangers keeper in excellent form. The game was played in an excellent spirit and both teams were a credit to the league.

Under 16's Red Division
Amesbury Junior FC won their final game of the season running out 3-0 winners at home to FC Chippenham and clinched runner's up position. Dean Wrixon, Dominic McKay and Tom Dear were on target for Amesbury with all three goals coming in the second half. Amesbury struggled to break down a packed midfield and defence until Dean Wrixon's speculative long range shot come clearance found the Chippenham keeper off his line and unable to reach the effort. This sparked the stripes into a bit of life at last and a neat through ball found Dom McKay who sweetly hit home a half volley from inside the box. Tom Dear neatly headed home for the final goal of the game. An increasingly animated Sam Dando bossed the defence around so well that the Amesbury keeper did not have an effort to save.
All credit to Chippenham as they never gave up and caused Amesbury immense frustration with their dogged defending. Both sides played the game in excellent spirit leaving Referee Ian Wrixon with hardly a decision to make.
Under 17's/18's Division
Castle Combe Colts and Castle Combe 1 played out an entertaining goalless draw. After the game both sides were awarded their Fair Play medals and prizes with Castle Combe 1 coming first and Castle Combe second.
