Melksham come from behind to win
Under 13's Jack Goodenough Memorial Trophy
AFC Corsham took the lead through Harry Roberts after five minutes in their tie against Melksham Town Youth. Melksham brought the scores level mid way through the first half after neatly chipping the keeper. In a tight and well fought first half Melksham edged in front just before half time with a calm finish after the ball was played across the goal. Melksham were the stronger team in the second half but took twenty minutes to score again before securing the tie with a fourth. Corsham had chances late on but Melksham's keeper made two great saves.
Under 16's Barry Curtis Memorial Trophy
Bath City Youth's first-half entertaining display was rewarded with a well-taken brace from Beau Rouse against Bradford Town Youth. A resilient Bradford defence denied Bath extending their lead and the visitors will be disappointed not to convert one of their opportunities.
Amesbury Juniors secured their place in the next round with a 4-1 away win against FC Chippenham.
Under 10's Blue Division
Trowbridge Town Youth B and visitors Bradford Town Youth started at a frenetic pace with the home side putting the ball into the side netting twice inside the opening five minutes. Despite Trowbridge having most of the possession it was Bradford who countered attacked quickly and on both occasions put the ball in the net. The second half started with Trowbridge attacking and Bradford hitting back on the break. Within the space of five minutes Ellis Farion scored twice from corners. Trowbridge looked for the winner and Bradford defended in numbers. From a Bradford clearance the ball was put into the box where it was coolly finished. With seconds remaining Rhys Fricker had his shot saved from point blank range with the ball spinning over the crossbar. Final score Trowbridge 2 Bradford 3.
In a game that saw an equal standard of play from both teams Trowbridge Town youth A finally came out as the victors against Warminster Highbury. The game was very close with several good saves made by both keepers leading to a goal-less first half.
Highbury started the stronger of the two after the break until a scramble around the goal mouth gave George Penny the opportunity to open the scoring for Trowbridge. A second goal soon followed when Sam Robbins picked up a corner from Benny Shaw and Trowbridge continued to hold the game. Kieran Robson later replied for Warminster and only an excellent save by Trowbridge keeper Ryan Tuck prevented Warminster equalising in the dying moments of the game. The game was refereed well by Karl Buchanan. Trowbridge named Ryan Tuck their man of the match.
U10 Green Division
Castle Combe Colts maintain their position one point clear at the top of the table after running out 9-0 winners away to Bradford Town Youth B. Combe saw goals from Rhys Bethall (5), Will Thompson (3) and Adam Mitchell.
Second in the table Melksham Town Youth Robins started their new year with a 3-0 home win against Westbury Youth Lions. The Robins saw goals from Ryan Boyle (2) and an own goal.
Under 10's Purple Division
Chippenham Town Youth White move one point clear at the top of the table following their 4-3 away win against Warminster Highbury. Henry Garraway (3) and George Garraway scored for the Whites with Alex Adlam (2) and Millie Spratt replying for Highbury.
Home side FC Chippenham took a 2-0 first half lead against Marshfield Lions before going on to finish 5-2 winners. Aidan Daniels, Edward Rees, Tyler Willis and Ben Lesley (2) scored for Chippenham.
A hat trick from Gabriel Gospodinov and a single from Aidan Toy saw home side Devizes Town Youth to a 4-2 win against Melksham Town Youth Eagles. Daniel Walker and Ben Lewis scored for the Eagles.
Under 10's Red Division
Westbury Youth Tigers ran out 8-2 winners at home to FC Chippenham with goals from Chris Bryant (2), Bradley Land (2), Bradley Gould, Jay Kirk, Peter Brown and an own goal.
Melksham Park and Larkhall Athletic Falcons enjoyed a close first half with Oliver Elmes taking the lead for Park and Marco Baldon equalising before the break for the Falcons. After the break the Falcons stepped up a gear scoring five more with just one reply to finish 6-2 winners. Kian Hayward (2), Harrison Davis, Peter Kimberley-Bowen and Ryan Musgrove scored for the Falcons with Elmes netting his second for Park.
Larkhall Athletic Eagles scored their first point of the season following their 2-2 draw against home side Marlborough Town Youth. Lieberman Suleiman (2) scored for the Eagles.
Under 10's Yellow Division
Bradford Town Youth C won their third game on the bounce following their 4-2 victory against home side Chippenham Town Youth Yellow. Niall Beddoe and Aidan Bottomley scored for Chippenham.
Under 11's Red Division
Frome Collegians rounded off their first set of games with a 3-1 home win against Worton & Cheverell. Sam White, Edward Curtis and Dean Grant scored for Frome.
U12 Blue Division
Devizes Town's Alex Singh ended Trowbridge Town's unbeaten run by scoring a goal mid-way through the second half. Trowbridge had taken the lead with a Grant Bridewell own goal but Bradley Hill levelled on the stroke of half-time. After a closely fought second half Devizes's defence stayed strong to see out the victory.
Under 12's Green Division's
A Dominic Jackson hat trick sealed a 3-1 victory for Laverstock and Ford against home side Castle Combe Colts in a game of missed chances. Gareth Jones replied for Combe. Combe named keeper James Blackmore their man of the match for keeping them in the game until the end.
Worton and Cheverell started the brighter against home side AFC Corsham and had a few chances before Elliott Bodman put them ahead mid way through the first half. Corsham then started to come back into the game as the teams played out end to end football. Corsham finally made their pressure pay with a goal as the teams went into half time level at 1-1. In the second half both teams continued their attacking football. In the end it was Corsham who made it pay with a second goal as the Worton team tired. Alfie Cross and Aaron Ward-Baptiste scored for Corsham.
UNDER 12'S RED DIVISION
Westbury Youth B kicked off the New Year in fine form, playing their best football of the season to record an impressive 8-4 victory against Melksham Town Reds.
Westbury started strong, passing the ball round well and were soon ahead through Jordan Bishop. Westbury's midfield duo of Kieran Hardy and Olly O'Grady worked tirelessly and created several scoring opportunities, leading to a hat trick inside the first fifteen minutes by Paul Eddington. A further goal from Eddington and a goal from Melksham's Jordan Phillips left the half time score at 5-1 to Westbury.
The second half was a more even contest with both teams sharing a further six goals. Eddington scored three more for Westbury, taking his match tally to seven, with Melksham replying through Callum Race and Benjamin Howell (2) leaving the final score at Westbury Youth B 8 Melksham Town Reds 4.
Marshfield Juniors got their new year off to a good start, running out 5-2 winners at home against Larkhall Athletic. Rory Smith (2), Jeremy bond (2) and Callum Hamblen scored for Marshfield with Charlie Noad (2) replying for Larkhall.
Under 13's Blue Division
Devizes Town Youth ran out 3-0 winners against visitors AFC Calne with goals from Jack Bramwell (pen.), Alistair Filmore and Jonny Webb.
U13 Green Division
Westbury Youth ended Melksham Parks one hundred per cent record with an outstanding team performance. The first half saw Ashley Hargreaves score a hat trick with two penalties and a well taken goal as he rounded the keeper to slot the ball into the net. Melksham scored their only goal through Alex Brownwrigg just before half time. Five minutes into the second half Kai Bingham scored a fourth for Westbury and later scored his second and Westbury's fifth with a superb solo goal to end an entertaining game.
Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds came off second best against a very determined Melksham Town Youth Red's. Although Trowbridge created many chances, Jack Noden was their only goal scorer as Melksham defended well in numbers and deserved their 4-1 win. Charlie King, Cory Benham, Kieran Gill and Jack Woolsgrove scored for Melksham.
Under 13's Red
In a sporting and good natured game Chippenham Town Rangers and Castle Combe Colts shared the spoils with a one all draw. Jonathan House scored for home side Rangers.
Under 14's Green Division
Division leaders Corsham FC ran out 10-2 winners at home to FC Chippenham 2nds. Corsham saw hat tricks from Leigh Rogers, Ryan Godridge and Sam Weston with a single from Mel King.
Under 14's Red Division
Melksham Park ran out convincing 9-0 winners against visitors Westbury Youth 2nds. Luke Cottis, Adam Lloyd, Adam Williams (2), James Webb (2) and Jacob Brickell (3) scored for Park.
Under 15's Blue Division
AFC Corsham dominated the first half against Trowbridge Town and made the most of their chances to lead 4-1 at the break. The second half saw a better performance from the Trowbridge defence lapsing just once for a final score of 5-1. Darren Moss (3), Ollie Webb and Tom Smith scored for Corsham with Allie Rose replying for Trowbridge.
Under 15's Green Division
A hard fought game saw FC Chippenham Youth run out 3-1 winners against Castle Combe Colts with some good chances for both teams to take the points earlier in the game.
Melksham Town Youth Blue hosted club mates Melksham Town Youth Reds for their first game of 2008. The Blues dominated throughout netting twelve with no reply. The Blues saw goals from Matty Bird (3), Paul Cuthbertson (5), Ben Brown, Jonathan Cox, George Harding and an own goal.
Melksham Parks remain unbeaten in this division taking maximum points from eight games following their 10-2 home win against Larkhall Athletic. Shaun Bereton, Michael Chipper, Keiran Mills, Jordan Kirk, David Jones (2) and Ben Macey (4) scored for Park with Jordan Kirk named as their man of the match.
Under 15's Red Division
Bradford Town Youth Blue and Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds played out a pretty close game for most of the first half. Trowbridge kept up the pressure on the Bradford defence and broke through to open their account with a close range goal from Tom Shergold. A few minutes later Ryan Greenland scored Trowbridge's second goal with a long distance shot. Bradford battled on and were rewarded with a well deserved goal from Robin Aldridge just before the close of the first half. The second half opened with Trowbridge again pressing their advantage and three more goals went in, two from Shergold and one from Kieran Heavan. Bradford endeavoured to close the gap by creating many chances but the Trowbridge defence held on to secure the win. An excellent exhibition of football played in good spirit by both teams. Bradford's Man of the match was the keeper Sam Draper. The match was well refereed by Alen Evans.
Under 16's Blue Division
Alex Lewis gave home side AFC Calne a 1-0 lead at the break against AFC Corsham. James Dark equalized for Corsham early in the second half before James Aplin sealed the win for Calne at 2-1.
Under 16's Red Division
Bemerton Heath Harlequins took a 1-0 lead at the break against home side Warminster United Youth. Warminster fought back in the second half denying Bemerton further advancement and scoring three to finish 3-1 winners. Craig Shepherd (2) and James Reeves scored for Warminster.
Under 17's/18's Division
Castle Combe Colts dropped points for the first time this season following their home game against Warminster Highbury. A very closely fought game saw Combe take a first half lead through Adam Shipman. Highbury defended resolutely in the second half and bagged the equalizer for a 1-1 full time score.
Castle Combe Colts 1 gave a great team performance against Marlborough Town to lead 2-0 at the break. Combe increased their lead to 3-0 before a last minute penalty saw the game end 3-1. Andrew Bailey (2) and Josh Shaw scored for Combe.
