Back in the old routine Back in the old routine

AFTER six weeks’ rest, the Swindon Town players returned to training yesterday and Paolo Di Canio could barely have been happier to have his squad around him once again.

The Robins boss and fitness coach Claudio Donatelli took the team on a welcome-back run in the morning, as well as another session after lunch, and Di Canio told the local media how delighted he was to be back in the thick of the action.

“I missed them. It’s obvious that I’m excited,” he said.

“Even since three weeks ago when I started meeting the new players, every day I have been thinking about how to start, how to approach it, what message we have to send to everybody because it’s obvious that we are here to win again.

“It will be difficult but you start winning not only when you’re on the field but when you are outside in the way you work, in the way you prepare - and it’s obvious that the most important moment is when I meet them because together we can build something.

“Today was a good moment when I met all of them, then we started all over again.

“I was curious to see the new guys. I want to study exactly how they move and what their intentions are in the training session because I think I can help them to understand that every moment will be crucial.”
