DAVID Lucas insists Town are gunning for revenge over Bristol Rovers this weekend, with the keeper relishing the prospect of three points in front of a bumper County Ground crowd.
When the sides met in the reverse fixture back in December, Swindon were on the wrong end of a comprehensive 3-0 thumping from their local rivals - coincidentally the last time Danny Wilson’s side were defeated in league action.
And when questioned as to whether he and his teammates would be seeking retribution for that miserable afternoon in Bristol, Lucas’ reply was an honest : “Yeah there is. Why not?
“Human nature is to want to get your own back on people, so there is a little bit of revenge on our minds.
“But that will just be on top of our natural motivation, willingness to work hard for each other and pick up the win.
“That game was just one of those days. We started off alright but they sucker-punched us three times in about 10 minutes or something like that.
“It was a combination of them being quite good, and us being pretty terrible.
“But we just put it down as a bad day at the office as it hasn’t happened too many times this season.”
More than 10,000 are expected to come through the gates for tomorrow’s League One fixture, with Rovers supporters being given the normally-empty Adkins Family Stand.
And Lucas is looking forward to a packed house and the electric atmosphere that is sure to accompany it.
“It makes a big difference when the away fans are behind that goal,” explained the 31-year-old stopper.
“Southampton and Leeds had that end and it adds to the atmosphere. It suits us down to the ground.
“In my opinion it’s a lot easier to play in games where there is a good atmosphere and you can hear the fans singing.
“At the minute we’ve got a lot of confidence in ourselves, especially at home. Pitches away from home have been terrible, so when we do get the chance to play out there (the County Ground) it is a good pitch and suits us.”
Meanwhile, Town have been attempting to land Charlton full-back Yassin Moutaouakil on loan.
Danny Wilson has been searching for cover at right-back and Addicks manager Phil Parkinson admitted yesterday: "I did have a call from Swindon Town about Yassin Moutaouakil.
"They asked about his availability, but they haven't come back to me.
His agent is working hard and ringing as many clubs as possible. He says he's got a few other potentially interested parties, but the only call I've had is from Swindon."

Moutaouakil began his career at Ligue 2 club Châteauroux, making his debut for the senior team in the 2004-05 season. In his time with Châteauroux, Moutaouakil made 36 appearances, including one appearance in the 2004-05 UEFA Cup.
On 20 June 2007 he signed a four-year contract with Charlton Athletic for a fee of about €600,000, following reported interest from Everton, Aston Villa, Rangers, Celtic and Lazio. However, Moutaouakil failed to settle in the side, due to a reported poor attitude to training (and a subsequent altercation with then team-mate Harry Arter). Charlton Athletic released their seasons squad numbers on 5 August, with no number being allocated to either Moutaouakil or team mate Martin Christensen.
On the last day of the UK summer transfer window, Moutaouakil joined Motherwell on a six month loan deal. 2nd January, 2009, he returned to Charlton Athletic after 3 and a half month at Fir Park.
this does not sound like the sort of player we need coming into the team and messing up the good team spirit we have, surely? does not look good that motherwell sent him back early either, he was given a second chance a blew it, no third chance please danny.
