KESHI Anderson believes prolonging Swindon Town’s present winning streak as long as possible could have a big impact on their ambitions this season.

David Flitcroft’s side travel to League Two play-off rivals Coventry City this afternoon hunting a fourth victory on the bounce.

Although Town are currently two places outside the play-offs, they are only out of the top seven on goal difference, plus just two points behind third-placed Accrington Stanley in the last of the automatic promotion spots.

Coventry, who are one place above in Swindon in eighth, also have the goal of reclaiming their status in League One for next season and with so many clubs still in the fight to go up, Anderson hopes Town can make a telling move.

“It has been a weird season. Everyone has beaten whoever and lost to whoever. Sometimes that is how a league is and at the moment it is very, very tight,” said Anderson.

“I feel like we have had a good run in January, we haven’t lost yet, and hopefully we can go on and get the next two wins under our belt as well and go through January and just see where it takes us.

“I think if we get the next win and other teams slip up, we could be in third, fourth, fifth or wherever.

“It is one of those times of the season where you just want to be nailing games and getting maximum points.”

Coventry have lost just three league matches at home so far this season and claimed the scalp of Premier League side Stoke City in their last match at the Ricoh Arena in the FA Cup third round a fortnight ago.

Although well aware of the size of the task ahead, forward Anderson is confident Town have the tools to continue their good form against the Sky Blues.

“They are a good team otherwise they wouldn’t be up there,” said Anderson.

“They are very organised in what they do, they have got a few players who they look for to be their match winners but we have got enough in our team to make sure we eradicate what they bring.”
