Foursomes win for Morgan and Millett

| Sam Morgan |
BRISTOL and Clifton's Martin Millett and talented junior Sam Morgan won the Gloucestershire Adult-Junior foursomes title for the Eric Scott-Cooper Salver at Chipping Sodbury.
They carded two-over-par 74, including four birdies, to claim the first official county event of the season that attracted 39 pairs on a bitterly cold and breezy day.
Morgan, who also plays at The Kendleshire and is a member of the county under-18 squad, won the Gloucestershire junior order of merit for the Jeff Hall trophy for the first time last year. He also won the county net titles in 2005 and 2006 and plays off three.
He has made Bristol and Clifton his home club this year. He said: "This helps me work more closely with my coach Paul Mitchell (the B and C professional) who has improved my game massively."
Dan and Matt Parrott (The Kendleshire) were second on countback from county vice-captain Nigel Thompson and junior Charlie McLean (Brickhampton Court) on 78. Thornbury's Nat Payne and Matt Cheesborough (Thornbury) were fourth with 83.
Bristol and Clifton landed another prize when Alex Sanders finished as the leading girl. She and Karen Rix, the Shirehampton secretary, carded 71.5 in the net section to finish second behind Mel and Elliott Missen (Cotswold Edge) who scored 70.
