Rich pickings for first ace

10:28am Wednesday 30th April 2008

FARMER Tony Howe chose the right moment to record his first ace for it earned him £200 as it came during the club's Yellow Ball team competition at Tiverton.

After playing for nearly half a century, Howe, aged 63, despatched a seven-iron shot into the hole off a bank to the left of the green.

He was playing with Ian Bray who had never had a hole-in-one in nearly 20 years until he landed two aces in the space of five weeks in 2006.
