BATH have propped up their squad for next season by tieing down Anthony Perenise to a new contract and confirming the summer signing of Victor Delmas from French side Colomiers.

Samoa international Perenise, who re-joined the club from Bristol this season, is just three games away from a century of appearances for Bath and joins fellow props Max Lahiff, Nathan Catt, Lucas Noguera, Beno Obano and Henry Thomas already contracted for next season.

The tighthead said: “It been great to be back at Bath – it feels like I’ve never been away. I’ve really enjoyed my rugby this season and I know there is a great deal of potential in this group of players, which is really exciting moving forwards.”

Delmas will join him next season after spending the majority of his career with Colomiers.

The 26-year-old added: “I’m really looking forward to joining Bath Rugby next season. It’s a great opportunity for me to play for one of the biggest clubs in England, but also continue my development as a player.”

Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder added: “I’m really pleased to have re-signed Anthony for next season and seeing what Victor can bring to the squad.

"We’re building a really strong front row, which will be only enhanced by Anthony and Victor signing on for next season.

“That competition for places will only elevate the players to the next level. Beno (Obano), Dunny (Tom Dunn) and Henry (Thomas) have done exactly that, which has put them in the reckoning for England and that’s really exciting for the club as a whole.”
