BATH winger Semesa Rokoduguni is the beneficiary of Manu Tuilagi’s season-ending injury after he was called up a late replacement for England’s training camp in Brighton next week.

Rokoduguni’s inclusion for the two-day camp, which gets under way on Monday, makes it six Bath players in the 33-man squad selected by head coach Eddie Jones.

Fellow winger Anthony Watson, centre Jonathan Joseph, fly-half George Ford, lock Charlie Ewels and prop Nathan Catt are also selected.

Jones will confirm his squad for this spring’s Six Nations on January 20.

Rokoduguni, who won a second England cap in the victory over Fiji – the nation of his birth – at Twickenham in November, is selected as a result of the knee injury suffered by Leicester Tigers centre Tuilagi at the weekend.

Tuilagi was playing only his sixth game following a two-month lay-off because of a groin issue and has not started a game for England since June 2014 but will now be forced to spend the remainder of the campaign on the sidelines.

A short statement said: “Manu Tuilagi (Leicester Tigers) will not attend England’s training camp in Brighton because of an injury sustained during Leicester Tigers’ defeat to Saracens.

“Semesa Rokoduguni (Bath Rugby) has been called in to join up with the 33-man squad.”

England begin the defence of their Six Nations title against France at Twickenham on Saturday, February 4.

Meanwhile, Bath number eight Taulupe Faletau is a doubt for the start of Wales’ Six Nations challenge because of a medial knee ligament injury, that will rule him out for up to six weeks.
