BATH Academy back row Max Northcote-Green will join London Irish next season.

The 21-year-old joined Bath in 2013 from Millfield School, helping Bath United win the Aviva A League that year.

He has gone on to make five senior appearances for Bath to date, most recently in the Aviva Premiership victory against London Irish in November last year.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Bath Rugby and would like thank all involved at the club,” said Northcote-Green.

“It’s been a big part of my life for the past few years and so many of my friends are here, so leaving will be hard.

"I’ve developed hugely as a player, and learnt a lot from the likes of Francois Louw, but I feel that a change will help me take the next step in my career.”

Bath first team coach Toby Booth said: "It's obviously disappointing when a product of our Academy decides to move on, however back row is a hugely competitive position at Bath.

"We understand that Max feels he needs to be playing regular first team rugby at this stage in his career, and wish him all the best at the Exiles."
