BATH and England prop David Wilson has been ruled out of the RBS 6 Nations tournament due to a neck injury, coach Stuart Lancaster has announced.

The 29-year-old tighthead, who lives in Trowbridge, will miss England's remaining four fixtures and will be sidelined for up to three months.

Wilson will, however, be back in time for the World Cup training camp.

"David has seen the specialist and will be out for the Six Nations," Lancaster said.

"He's booked in for an operation tomorrow that will relieve his nerve impingement. He'll be out for 10-12 weeks."

Bath head coach Mike Ford said: "We are disappointed for Davey that he'll miss the Six Nations.

"Following his operation, he'll return to the club to commence his rehabilitation.

"His return will be based on his progress during rehab, but our medical team are confident he will be back playing for Bath before the end of the season."

England were able to report a clean bill of health despite a full-blooded encounter at the Millennium Stadium that saw Bath's Anthony Watson and Jonathan Joseph cross in each half.

Joseph, who alongside lock George Kruis will be making his first international start at Twickenham, resumes his promising centre partnership outside Luther Burrell with George Ford pulling the strings at fly-half.
