SEMESA Rokoduguni is the man to power England past the All Blacks this weekend, according to World Cup winner Lewis Moody.

Rokoduguni has been the form wing in the Premiership this season for Bath, running in four tries and topping the charts for defenders beaten in the opening six rounds.

Such red-hot form earned the 27-year-old a call-up to Stuart Lancaster’s England squad for the four autumn internationals at Twickenham.

First up for England is a rematch with the All Blacks, the side that beat them 3-0 this summer, and former Bath and Leicester flanker Moody - now director of rugby at Bradford on Avon - wants Fiji-born flyer Rokoduguni to be parachuted straight into the first XV.

“You look at his stats in terms of metres made, ball carries and players beaten – he’s topping them all,” said ex-England captain Moody, who is an ambassador for the LV= Cup.

“I think he could be the X-factor for England this autumn – he certainly looks dangerous enough to cause the opposition serious problems.

“He’s a strong old boy but you just never know how players are going to transfer from club to international level.

“The only thing you can do is give them that opportunity to shine and I do think Stuart needs to involve him because he has been brilliant.

“Rokoduguni is 27, so he’s not exactly a young pup but has been given an opportunity because of his form. His form dictates that he has to be in there and that’s the way you should do it.”

Bath could form a sizeable part of the England backline with Kyle Eastmond also likely to be involved in the centres for the clash with the All Blacks.

With both Manu Tuilagi and Luther Burrell injured, the opportunity is there for Eastmond and clubmate Jonathan Joseph to stand up and be counted and Moody is excited to see what they offer.

“One of Stuart’s main worries is around that centre pairing because obviously his first-choice centre partnership is banged up,” he added.

“Does he go with Eastmond who can be absolutely devastating in attack but who was fundamentally found out in defence on the summer tour?

“I’ve seen Eastmond play at Bath and defence is an area of his game that he has worked on. He was more disappointed than anyone else over the summer and it’s about fitting into the team and getting used to playing at the highest level.

“Kyle is a Jason Robinson-style player, so I think he should be paired with someone like Billy Twelvetrees who is solid and steady or Brad Barritt who is even more solid and steady.

“It’s a tricky one for Stuart and there is also someone like Jonathan Joseph pushing for game time, but there are some good conundrums for him.”
