A YOUTHFUL Chippenham side secured their place in the final of the Bath Combination Cup with a 36-20 success at Keynsham.
Keynsham, who lead the way in Tribute Western Counties North, made a flying start with a penalty and two tries, one of which was converted.
However, the Allington Field side fought back with unconverted tries from Ben Riley and Lewis Surry to close the gap to 15-10 at the break.
After the interval, Chippenham stepped up a gear and got their rewards.
Skipper Ryan Surry brought the scores level with a try, before Dom Riccio’s conversion gave them a 17-15 lead.
Some solid forward pressure from the visitors saw Matt Bye power over. Again, Riccio added the extras.
Keynsham hit back with another unconverted score to set-up a tense finale.
However, Ryan Surry and Sam Graham both crossed the whitewash for tries, one of which was improved upon for a final score of 36-20.
