CALNE moved into the top four in Dorset & Wilts Two North as Struggling Bath Saracens with a 38-28 victory at struggling Bath Saracens.

As both teams looked to established control, it became apparent that Calne's dominance would come from the scrum as Pete Brownlie, Dave Evans and Tom Morten drove the lighter Saracens pack off the ball.

In open play Calne's Marcus Turner, Bruce Harper and Adam Young cut through the home side's defensive line and eventually the breakthrough came from captain Morten who crashed over.

Further tries followed from Morten again, Rhys Taylor, Marcus Turner, Dave Holes and Jamie Palmer.

Morten, whose side host league leaders Avonvale this weekend, said: "We made hard work of it but to Bath Saracens credit, they played well and scored a few well worked tries.

Chairman Chris Austin added: "We were not firing on all cylinders and Saracens played better than their league position suggests.

"Any win away from home is a good win but we all know we need to play a lot better.''
