CORSHAM maintained their unbeaten record in Dorset and Wilts Division One North with a 36-11 success at Minety.

The league leaders’ power told in the ninth minute when, from a lineout, the ball was passed along the backs to centre William Chivers, who chipped over the Minety defence for Liam Snape to run in close to the posts for an unconverted score.

Minety hit back in the 13th minute when Garin Garland slotted home a penalty from 25 metres out and the scrum-half put his side into the lead 16 minutes later with another three points.

However, Corsham restored their before the break when winger Hamish Miller touched down.

The visitors took a 15-6 lead into the break when they exploited the weaknesses in the Minety defence for Aaron Gale to score in the corner.

And the visitors' fourth try came in the 54th minute through Gale before Minety set up camp on the Corsham line, allowing full-back Jack Ward to score in the corner.

However, two late tries, including a second for Snape, saw Corsham home.

Elsewhere, Pewsey Vale suffered a 24-17 home defeat to Warminster.

Karl Crosbie gave Pewsey an early lead with an unconverted try, but the visitors ran in three scores to claim a 17-5 advantage.

Pewsey's Guy Ellis made the most of a spilled ball to touch down to make it 17-10 but Warminster responded with a converted score.

Jeremy Horton powered his way over for the hosts late on, James Haynes converting.
