MINETY 2nd scored eight tries in their resounding 50-10 victory at Melksham 3rd.

After conceding an early try, Matt Stone’s team hit back with a Keiran Gash score and a Will Mason penalty before three tries in the space of just 12 minutes at the start of the second half sealed the win.

A late Del Murray try took Minety’s score to 50 points just before the end.

Captain Stone said: “I was really impressed with how consistent our scrummaging and lineouts were, even with people playing out of position.

"We have a great team and I look forward to seeing how we can compete through the season."

Corsham 2nd team secured a fine 39-29 victory to inflict a first loss of the campaign on top of the table Swindon College Old Boys 2nd.

In Two North, Chippenham 3rd succumbed 26-7 to Melksham 2nd, but Colerne were 12-0 winners over Royal Wootton Bassett 3rd.

Sutton Benger climbed into third with a 24-5 win at Combe Down 2nd
